To help, we’ve put together answers to some of the most common questions about our X-ray and EKG imaging services. General Questions

Do I need to make an appointment?

No appointment is necessary. We accept walk-ins for both X-rays and EKG/ECGs. However, you must bring a requisition from your physician for the procedure to be performed.

What do I need to bring?
Please bring:
  • A valid health card
  • Your physician’s requisition for the exam
How soon will I get the results?
  • X-ray reports are sent to your referring physician within 1–2 business days.
  • EKG results are typically sent within 1–2 weeks.
Do you perform Immigration X-rays?
Yes, our Lorimer location is equipped to provide Immigration X-rays. Please bring the following:
  • Your passport or photo ID
  • Your immigration requisition
  • Your provincial health card (if you have one)
Your X-ray will be reviewed by a specialized radiologist. The report will be sent to your doctor and uploaded to eMedical.
Note: There may be a $65 fee for this exam, payable by Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, debit, or cash.
What to expect during your EKG
Small sensors placed on your chest, arms, and legs record your heart’s electrical activity. The test is quick, safe, and completely painless — no electricity enters your body. The test usually takes less than 10 minutes.
Clothing & Preparation: Undress to the waist; sensor need direct skin contact. Roll pants above the knees (remove pantyhose if needed). Jewelry can stay on. Lie back, relax —it’s that simple!
What to expect during your x-ray

Clothing & Preparation: Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment. You may be asked to remove items like jewelry, hairpins, or other metal objects. Depending on the area being imaged, you might also be asked to change into a medical gown.

Radiation Safety: X-rays use a very small amount of radiation that is considered safe and not harmful. However, if you are pregnant or think you might be, please let your doctor and the technologist know before your exam.

Results: Your X-ray will be read by a Radiologist and the report will be sent directly to the healthcare provider listed on your requisition form. They will review the results and follow up with you as needed.
